Alex’s Team Foundation was created in part ot honor and thank the nurses who cared for Alexandra Miliotis during her time at Boston Children’s Hospital as a pediatric cancer patient. Whether it be your neighbor, best friend, partner, co-worker, or the nurse that helped you through a vulnerable moment, Alex’s Team wants to thank each and every one of our hard working nurses everywhere!

• National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th to recognize the contributions nurses make to the community and the organizations or programs that support them. Through the years, Alex’s Team has supported nurses during this week and every week of the year by:
• Hand-delivering acai bowls from Energize to the nurses wing at Boston Children’s
• Providing Holiday meals to healthcare workers
• Caffeinated the Nurses and Nurse Practitioners on the Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant floor of Boston Children’s Hospital when their nearest coffee shop’s hours changed
• Sending nurses to the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses Annual Conference as well as the SIOP conference
• Thanking nurses the past few years who were nominated during National Nurses Week by giving them each a $1,000 spa getaway
• Sharing and recognizing the stories of nurses who have been nominated during our Nurses are Heroes campaign
